Ben Potts, Sr. Audio Mixer at NASCAR Productions, calls himself a “student of sound” and, together with Matt Gutknecht, Senior Account Director of Sports Entertainment at APM Music, they discuss the latest trends, inspiration and the nitty-gritty of sound design in the new podcast by MarketScale.
Ben highlights some of the major influences in his approach to sound, such as Requiem from a Dream, Solo, Apocalypse Now, Indiana Jones, Moonrise Kingdom, Black Swan, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Stranger Things, among others. His careful attention to sound and the knowledge of its nature helps us craft totally incredible sound design with our team.
“It’s always good to have that relationship,” Ben says. “And it’s not just a me thing. Any of our producers can contact Matt and have that source.”
Matt Gutknecht, and other members of our APM team loved working on this project with such stellar creative force. “I feel that we’re absolutely blessed to have so many amazing clients, like Ben, that can showcase essentially what’s possible with using our comprehensive service,” shared Matthew in the podcast.
